How much should it cost in the Baton Rouge area to get 150 linear feet of 8 foot tall privacy fence with 2 gates?

Does anyone have any contractors that they have gone with that they recommend?

What recommendations does the OT have for putting a 2 foot retaining wall around the base to keep dogs from digging out? Is it a worthwhile idea? Would an invisible fence and shock collar be a better option?

My current thoughts are to price the fence with the initially suggested dimensions of 150' long x 8' tall with 2 gates and go from there. I want all wood, with 4 x 4 wooden posts. I am open to suggestions on wooden posts vs metal posts. I am also open to ideas for keeping the dogs from digging out without doing a retaining wall.

Thanks for any and all help.

TLDR: Need fence, want suggestions on who to go with.

C&C Fence Co.

You literally will not find a better deal in town. I got 5 bids for my fence project and they were significantly lower than anyone else. They built a great fence, as well.

I used Robison Fence a few years ago and was satisfied. I would recommend metal posts, the are stronger and won't warp or rot.

What were the dimensions of your fence, how many gates, what was the cost, and how long did it take for them to build?

You are probably looking at around $5,000 for an 8' fence.

Don't use metal posts. With metal posts the 2x4s must be bracketed together. The brackets create a weak spot and tend to warp pretty badly during a south LA summer. I'd recommend 4x6 wooden posts if ur going 8 feet tall.

Edit: you should pay no more than about $3500 for labor and materials for 150 feet and 2 gates

Call Scott Fence and he will give you over the phone.

And I tried all recommended above and he was cheapest. They started and finished in two days. Mailed an invoice, I mailed a check a week later.

8' I would add an extra stringer just to stiffen it. I did.

I was hoping for somewhere between $3500 and $5000, so I am glad that my expectations are realistic. Good advice on the posts.
