It's beautifully shot, and it features an interesting cast -- but wow, what a wretched script. They turned the poetry of no country into a plodding mess of a thing.

I almost saw it in theaters cause I actually liked most of the cast that was in it, then i saw a Behind the scenes look on HBO, and it actually killed my desire to see it.
then i read reviews and was glad I passed. normally i don't pay attention to reviews, but the BTS feature i saw plus that made me glad i saved my money.

Is this the one that was written by Cormac?
I wish he'd spend the rest of his years producing novels. They translate well to the screen with the right director and screenwriter.

The funny thing is the Coen brothers really didn't need a screenwriter for No Country, most of the dialogue was word for word from the book. Not sure where McCarthy went wrong with The Counselor but he definitely needs to stick to books. He's a tremendous author.

Too much dialog that didn't serve the story. It was like watching a McCarthy book that just didn't work on film.
The movie also needed a strong lead for the female villain. Diaz just couldn't carry that role.
