Question for kimber owners

Went to the range again today and ran 200 rounds through my crimson carry pro ll. This is 400 total down the pipe. About 350 factory reloads and 50 hot corbon loads.
Let me preface my problem by saying that I love the gun. 1" groups are easy and the trigger is like butter, just an amazing shooter (not to mention it's beautiful)
My problem is that I'm getting pelted in the face and head with spent brass. It was worse today than it was the first time I've shot. Limp wristing and ammo selection is ruled out. Had two separate experienced shooters shoot it today, one a fellow kimber owner, and had the same issue with different types of ammo. 25-30% of shots fired are sending brass directly back. So I need advice on the next step to take.
Send it back to kimber, send it to a 1911 smith, give it another 500 rounds of break in and see if it works itself out, replace parts to see if I can pinpoint the issue (have read that a wolffe recoil spring has helped with this issue for some). What would you do?

Extractor tension issue. Do the extractor test and then adjust. Hold for link...

Limp wristing is not ruled out. That's exactly what's happening.

Ok, well I had a competition shooter put rounds through it today and he had the same issue. I'll tell him to tidy up his form though.

Could be an extractor issue but I doubt it.

Generally speaking most erratic ejection issues are caused by a improperly tuned extractor.

Just performed a very minuscule bend, I'll see if that helps out at all. If not I think my next step is going to be a Wilson bullet proof extractor.

Wilson combat bullet proof part are always a great call in my book.

It's a Kimber, be happy it's throwing brass at all.

LOL, yea they had some QC around 2007-8ish. I would assume its all good to go now though. Limp wristing, extractor maybe. Sometimes in the break in period a 1911 will throw brass in unlikely spots. If you are tweaking the extractor yourself, be careful as to not screw it up. Wilson combat makes a good extractor you could try, I however would wait til you get to around 500 rounds through and see what its like.

I would say the same. A buddy that doesn't shoot much AT ALL shot my crimson carry not too long ago and had this exact same issue. He handed it to me and the problem went away

My TLE custom II was a train wreck until I swapped out the mag catch for one that holds mags two hundredths higher. Flawless for a thousand rounds or so now. Couldn't afford a Wilson combat but I am happy with my kimber now.
Your issue sounds like extractor tension to this non expert . Good luck with it.
