I know most on here would not blame him if he chose to stay closer to home, but I can't remember anytime a recruit chose to stay with a school they were already committed to with an NSD announcement. I don't have good feeling. What you guys think?

I hope we can keep him but I TOTALLY understand if he decides to stay closer to home.

There have been guys who have announced to stay. I understand his situation but I hope that if he leaves that he would have the decency to have already let the coaches know (weeks ago). I think he stays, FWIW.

I would hope that he has already alerted the staff.

I know everyone says they "understand" his situation but it would be a real dick move to be committed to lsu and then sign elsewhere on NSD without letting our staff know. IMO

Yea,he seems to hate OU because of the way their fans were treating him and acting.

Well me too but why not announce early? I hope the coaches have been informed

Is there a chance he goes to OK ST? I know that's where his brother goes.

This is kind of childish to do this on NSD...Are you committed to LSU or not? You're going to announce your commitment or your flip to OU for personal reasons?

If you change you mind, we understand, but do we need an announcement for either choice on NSD? LSU has been supportive all along...but this screams "look at me".

The way recruiting is now, the game isn't over until they sign on the dotted line. Its nust the culture of recruiting, coaches push for the commitment, yet they also create the environment where players don't stand by that commitment by flipping players after they commit. Yea, it would suck if he flipped to OU last second, but don't act like you wouldn't be happy if LSU flipped someone last second that was commited elsewhere. Cant have it both ways

There is nothing more important than family. I won't blame this kid for changing his mind, no matter if its during fall practice, middle of the season, whenever. If he decides the distance isn't working for him, who am I to judge? I couldn't even imagine trying to make the decision he is making.

If that's the case, I guess you think Jeremy Hill's announcement was childish as well

right. If he were staying with LSU he would have announced prior to NSD. A lot of recruits wait to make controversial announcements under the cover of NSD when there is so much else going on. It takes the focus off of them.

I see DG has an "announcement" per DD as well. WTF?

Wasn't he initially saying he wasn't going to announce until after some USA vs Canada game he plays in? Which was after signing day. I think this is in LSUs favor if he does sign in NSD.

Well, he took a visit to UCLA - so that may cast doubt about his commitment. I think he's LSU.

He's gotten a lot of sympathy because of his mother's situation (and understandably so), but that often leads those same sympathizers into assuming that same person has excellent character. With the latest round of dramatics, maybe we should have looked a little closer. Not cool.

This. Or at worst neutral news for LSU. But I fail to see why moving his announcement up to NSD could somehow be bad for LSU. There's a chance LSU might miss out in the end, but it doesn't seem like this is tipping his hand.
