the original sections of TS are approaching 100 years old. At some point I imagine they will have to be reconstructed somehow.

they did some structural work on them in the 80's IIRC

Yeah, it doesn't look in any shape to host a gladiatorial contest.

That's because its 2000 years old. Tiger Stadium is just fine.

Wrigley Field is 100 years old this year. Steel and concrete doesn't necessarily disintegrate (unless water penetrates). Structural engineers inspect stadiums and bridges all the time.

I assume a design statement would say about 75 years minimum with routine maintenance and upgrades/improvements extending the life. Of course there are going to be code changes over that time that impact the improvements/upgrades like our current situation with the bathrooms. In order to upgrade the bathrooms they would have to meet current ADA requirements which would require a lot of work to provide handicap accessible toilets.
