6 hours. LINK

Is this actually true? And if so why hasn't it been discussed more in the news even a little? The man literally spends more time on a single round of golf than visiting the men and women he sends into harms way.

Why would he? He hates the military more than the Clinton's do.

I highly doubt Bush was there much more time, certainly not much more than 2 trips, and prob for about the same amt of time per trip. I hate Obama, but what in the hell is he supposed to do there?

You know the answer to that...anything that can paint him in a negative light is kept from being brought up in the media. The amount of taxpayers' money he has used for leisure trips is astounding

I don't care for Barry and his bullshite (all fed to the masses in two or three word snippets, read from his ever present TelePrompTer), but what would you have him do?

If you were in theater, would you want POTUS showing up in your AO? frick that noise. None for me today, thanks!

His visit, and the elevated security risk he'd bring with him, would greatly outweigh any inspirational message that he might attempt to impart. My thinking is that there are plenty of frickers in SW Asia who are more than happy to kill Americans without any additional inspiration. You should be thrilled that Barry is content to stay in DC (or Hawaii) and isn't other there causing security headaches for a political dog and pony show.

Probably more time than he's thought about Afghanistan. Of course, he's getting us out of there just like he promised, any year now.

Before the 2008 election, I think his promise was to have us out of Afghanistan after a year in office. (Might have been two years...)

I remember joking with a friend that if Barry could get us out of SW Asia in a year, that I'd vote for him in 2012. After some thought, I told him I might even vote for him in 2008, just based on the remote chance he could actually back up his campaign promise. (We all know how well THAT went!)

Nah breh, with all those foot mashies and mulligans he can finish a scratch round in under 4 hours.

Because he isn't a micro-managing prick and let's his armed forced do their job?

You know, there is a lot to bitch about with Obama...but you are really reaching here.

As I recall, Donald Rumsfeld made a couple of trips to Iraq in 2003, and one to Bagram. Any temporary morale boost generated didn't transpire into permanent victory.

I get the fact that security concerns are there, and no one likes the dog and pony show that goes with VIPs, the fact of the matter is VIP trips are handled every single day. Love him or hate him I honestly felt the President Bush actually cared about members of the military and would come visit or send high level folks and give the appearance of caring about what we were doing.

It goes a long way when your leader actually shows he cares for you, that is my point.

I don't have a problem with him not going. He'd just get in the way and I have to believe he'd be more resented over there than anything because if we know he hates the military you know they do too.

What pisses me off is how the media just gnashed their teeth and wailed about the need to see returning coffins when Bush was president but I guess the guys who have died since 2009 don't matter as much too them because they don't serve their purpose. That's why I hate your typical media a-hole as much as anybody.
