I ran the full last year, but probably won't ever again

really disappointed in NOLA that they let freaking Little Rock upstage them in this event

I was only handed 1 beer the entire race, and it wasn't until like mile 24

how bad are the running surfaces? I've heard horror stories. I'm planning on running on the neutral ground while on st charles - how crowded does that get (I'll be in corrall 1)? Also, trying to get a PR on this course but I've heard that they're are some hills on the second half of the course that surprise you. any of this true?

not that bad

the second half suuucked because you are running along the lakeside, which means the "hills" are overpasses or something and the wind was brutal last year

the lake killed me, it was hot, the humidity coming off the lake was heavy, and the wind was brutal

I was going for a PR as well and ended up running one of my slowest times

Esplanade is the worse, it will destroy your ankles

corral 1 wont be too bad, last year I was in corral 7 and i St Charles Av was crowded the entire time, it was the most crowded I had ever seen that race.

that's what I heard

worried about this as well. It'll only be in the 60s but most of us have been training in the 20s and 30s.

Yeah - I'm disappointed that the fastest pace group is 3:30. Those pace groups are great to draft off of but, hopefully, I'll be pretty far ahead of that pace group so have to find some other group to fall in behind.

Not this year -- ran the half last year. Esplanade sucked pavement wise BUT I think I read that it has been repaved!

Good luck ... I'm jelly!!!

I heard it was not moving in until later in the day. If it moves in early, maybe the rain will cool us off.

Running my first half! Cant wait!! I'm excited!!

Hitting the expo tonight to avoid going to nola 2 days in a row.

48 hours out...whats the gameplan usually for you guys? I think I'm getting a workout in this afternoon(normal workout not run) then off completely tomorrow.

The carb-up rumor? Is it true? Carb up the night before a race??

My goal is under 2 hours. I have been training well and everything says I can do that. Hopefully I can hit my goal!

tonight's dinner is way more important than tomorrow night's dinner. You don't want to eat a heavy dinner the night before the race - eat good tonight and lunch tomorrow. Then have a nice light meal tomorrow night.

nice easy run this morning (5 mi) and take off completely tomorrow. Lots of folks believe you should go out and run 1 or 2 miles the day before just to stretch out your legs. I don't typically do that - I just like to take the day off completely the day before a longer race.
