What I wouldn't give for some Phish 1.0 right now.

Aahhh, the good 'ol days where an entire set "took flight" and one jam fluidly meshed into another improv and kept an up tempo for an hour--not like today's offerings where they might take flight and if so, just for a few minutes or so.

I was kinda hoping to see a return, if for just one show, to the more free flow format of days past this time around, but alas, I think those shows will only be heard in the archives now.

Long live '93.

This Chicago run has been weak on the jamz. However up until ChiTown this tour was pretty damn good.

7.1 Ghost->Weekapaug Groove,Harry Hood
7.3 Bathtub Gin>Limb By Limb
7.4 Fuego
7.5 Piper
7.8 Fuego
7.11 Bathtub Gin
7.12 Carini
7.13 Chalk Dust Torture,Light,Tweezer
7.15 Down With Disease

All extended jams. That opening trio of Chalk Dust, Light, and Tweezer to open up 7.13 Set II was a total of 55 minutes.

In no way am I comparing it to 1.0. They are still jamming though. My main complaint is the lack of improv in Set I, although tonight we did see a rare jam in Scent of a Mule.

I agree the above are great versions, but I am talking about entire sets flowing from one to the next to the next without stops...Think Bomb Factory from Dallas, or Veterans Memorial type sets.

Like in and out of Simple 4 times!

I caught the Hollywood Bowl last year and the SOAM drum thing was done at that show as well.

7.1 saw Mike's>Simple>Free>Waiting All Night>Ghost->Weekapaug,Harry Hood. I thought that was a very solid segment.

I think the best set they have done in 3.0 with that style is 8.15.11 aka "the elements set"

Sand>Light>Dirt>Waves->Undermind->Steam>Fire

That was a great show. In fact I'd put it right behind 8.31.12 (frick YOUR FACE) as the best show since they returned.

The "S" set at Dick's was pretty cool too.

Sabotage made the place go nuts

Yeah, my cue to put on my own music.

The stream host killed it pre-show with some Desmond Dekker and a super-heady Zappa cover of Stairway to Heaven.
