Got rear ended by a drunk driver in 07. My suv rolled three times and slide before coming to a stop. That sequence was about 80 yards total. My ankle was degloved and open fractured to hell and back. Dr's transferred my left ab muscle to my ankle but after three years i was ready to move on from that injury healing process. Now i sport one of these. Im "below knee". my second worse pain occurred during the initial hospital stay. But its embarrassing so i wont get into it.(nurses mind your buisness!!) what has the OT lounge endured?

Jesus, not much is gonna "top" that one.

Sorry, but maiming of any kind has always given me the willies

Glad you survived and have been able to press on with life. Props to ya

My worst injury to date has only been a meniscus tear in my left knee. Didn't have surgery on it, so it still gives me some trouble from time to time, but I think at this point surgery would probably do more harm than good, so I'm just living with it.

Also just had ankle surgery (right ankle) last December. This is my second week out of the walking boot and in a brace

My worst injury was 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 30% of my body from my clothing catching fire. Other than that, just two small bone fractures and minor knee injuries.

Shoulder out of socket,
shattered ankle.
Blown out knee,
broken nose, broken sinus cavity and fractured upper jaw.
The last 3 were together from getting snuck. But I'd rather all my injuries than losing a leg.

walking boot
This mofo right here is what causes me the pains i have today. I was in a wheelchair for the first four months. Once i was able to put pressure on the ankle, i was in a boot for 6 months. It was comfy with an inflatable insert but the problem was that the sole on it was extreme. It jacked my left side up. That caused problems in my back. I also have an issue with my opposite knee from compensating the weight bearing. That sob just gives out every once in a while. I never got it looked at cause dr visits got old after a while! Im with you, i just deal with it.
Word if advice! Do not walk in that boot too much. It will eventually phuck with your lower back!

Damn that sucks

Mine was running into an oak tree at full stride. Wrists were where my elbows should have been, and elbows by my shoulders.
Also broke my jaw and knocked myself out for a few minutes

That sucks so bad. Do you need a transplant?

It's fricking scary how a virus can just attack a healthy heart and completely ruin it.

Mentally: torn UCL requiring tommy john surgery and 12 months rehab

Physically: the time my aunt slammed by hand in a truck door. It was a partially broken latch so you had to pull very hard for it to catch.

Thanks for the advice

I'd heard the horror stories about the boot, so I just tried not to do too much in it, tbh. My opposite knee was already fricked up so I didn't want to make a bad problem worse.

Walking with a limp now, and running is out of the question for another few months, but it's better than that dang boot
