Seriously. You are embarrassing yourself.

For one thing, you hated Bush and compared him to Hitler.

For another thing, most Conservatives had begun to abandon Bush by 2006. We went through the Clinton years and were pretty disgusted with the direction of America and had high hopes for Bush as a Republican. 9/11 galvanized us and led to the passage of the Patriot Act and Iraq War when we were still waving the flag. Even Democrats supported both things. As for me, I was against the Iraq War and was not paying attention for the Patriot Act, unfortunately.

As time went on, we began to wake up and have real problems with the Bush Administration and the direction the country was going. There were still a few things that we liked, but by 2007, I did not know a single Conservative who liked him at all.

Now, Obama runs on hope and change and is a disaster. Your only defense is "Bush did it too."

Bush was horrible which is why he had approval ratings in the high 20's. Do you know why his approval ratings were so low? Because Conservatives TURNED ON HIM.

When will Libs/Progs recognize what Obama is doing to freedom in our country and reject this agenda? I don't think they will, which tells me all I need to know about their own agenda.

I'm not defending Obama, I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of many who post on this board who didn't have a problem with Executive Orders until the POTUS doing it had a D next to his name.

I must have somehow missed that movement on this board back then.

Well, that was 5+ years ago.

Most of those folks have abandoned the Republican Party and did so when McCain was the nominee in 2008.

I myself wrote in a candidate rather than vote for McCain. My dislike for Bush was at an epic level by that time too.

Maybe you are right and this board advocated certain positions that it advocates no longer. But, I would wager that much of that shift occurred before Obama and is independent of Obama. That is my point.

This board was completely in the tank for McCain. The only Bush blowback I saw was after the bailouts right at the end of his term.

Obviously a lot of conservatives privately stopped supporting Bush sometime in the middle of his second term, that much is obvious by the polling data. However, they were not railing against his Bush's of the EO, nor calling him Emperor Bush or dear leader or any other such nonsense, or any of that stuff they are now that a Democrat is doing it too. That's the point.

The difference is Obama is using certain Executive orders to alter a law. That is unconstitutional.

The way he has used EO is the problem. Not that he is using them.

Right. That's not an excuse because they told us Obama was going to be so much better than Bush. Now Bush is were Obama sets his bar?

Another thing that I must have somehow missed on here.

It's not a defense of Obama... it's a commentary on hypocrites such as yourself. So, stop it.

Rex, I'm genuinely curious. Is there any ONE issue you disagree on with the democrats or Obama?

I highly doubt that a human being can agree with every single issue with the democrats or the republicans.

Socially I despise the GOP. They waste their time. Fiscally, I 100% despise the dems.

i think many former GOPers just got tired of government at the end of Bush's reign. TARP sealed the deal

if bush had another year, they'd be doing the same shite, but as luck has it, that was the VERY end of his time as POTUS

On an individual level, you have no room to talk about this considering how virtually every liberal on this board but you agree that Obama is a failure.

Anyway, you're fixing to make thus thread go to shite now. Have fun.

You really need me to link you to Bush suspending Habeas Corpus? Conservatives DEFENDED that at the time.

I guess it's only "unconstitutional" if you don't agree with the directive in question.

I don't want to get into a Bush bashing session, he's been gone for a long time. I don't like the EO system as it exists either and I would support reigning them in. All I ask is that you people not be so blatantly partisan.
