Let’s say it’s something like 13-13 or 17-17. Seattle’s D has played great and really slowed down the Denver offense. Denver’s D has also played great and most of Seattle’s points have come from good field position.

Seattle wins the toss. Should they kick or receive?

Remember a FG on the first drive doesn’t win the game, but a FG on the second drive does if you can stop them.

If you take the kick:

Best case – offense finally gets it together and you go on a long TD drive
Worst case - Offense gets stopped, Peyton gets a short field to lead a game winning FG drive
Middle - You get a FG, but Peyton gets 4 downs to tie it up/win it

If you give them the ball:

Best case – Your defense stops Denver and gives you good field position for a game winning FG drive
Worst case - Peyton Manning goes MVP and leads a TD drive
Middle - They get a FG, you get 4 downs to tie it up

I'll always take the ball. Don't frick around with the chance that Peyton scores a TD to win

I would only consider kicking if there is some extreme wind you can take advantage of.

Otherwise take the ball

Unless there's some crazy wind, I'd always take the ball.

There would be an absolute shite storm if they gave Peyton Manning the ball in overtime and he drove right down the field and scored to end it.

Always take the ball, let alone kicking it to the best QB in the game.

This is pretty much how I feel. I wouldn't have the balls to kick it. But I do think kicking it would give them a better chance to win (assuming the LoB has shut down Peyton the first 4 quarters)

You don't give the ball to the most prolific offense in NFL history with arguably the GOAT quarterback leading them with a Super Bowl on the line. I don't care how great your defense is. That's my opinion.
