Anybody seen this Gosling/Cooper/Mendez/Liotta film from 2012?

I watched it last night and it was like a train wreck..i couldn't look away but it was so bad at parts...Gosling was awesome and the story was kinda cool...but it left me wanting more with the last chapter...

Thoughts?

I liked it. The kid in the last chapter is really talented. It was awkward how much better he was than the other kid. I didn't feel like his actions were very well reasoned out to the audience. His actions were very erratic. His old man's were too so maybe that was supposed to be it. His identity crisis was hard to completely identify with as well as much as the kid acted his guts out.

I watched it and was weirdly drawn into it. I couldn't get over how much Bradley Cooper's son acted like this douche I went to school with. Very crazy twist, but you could see it coming a mile away. Gosling and Cooper were both great and you had to have respect for Mendez' husband that raised the kid. Cool story, a little long, but great cast.

Yeah Gosling's kid. That guy is electric on the screen. Very reminiscent of a young Michael Pitt or even Dicaprio.

Which is exactly why I thought he did a great job as well, I don't think people realize his character was acting...when Cooper was around he toned it down and played a regular kid with no fake guido accent

I know this is kind of racist but I thought the director should have had the family abandoned by the black father if they wanted to set up the 3rd chapter identity crisis. Him having a good relationship with this really politically correct adopted black dad didn't really make sense with him feeling so lost.

It's too early to say he's going to be a great well-rounded actor but his ability to put a trance on the viewer is a rare gift.

terrible movie. made no sense. pacing was awful. performances were good but they could not save the story.

Truly, this movie was an incredible letdown.

The cast and trailer made me want to see this film very bad. It was disappointing though. Could have been much better.

AJ (Cooper's son) was absolutely horrible. that acting job might be one of the worst put on screen in a while.

I thought it was a top 5 movie of 2012. Last 1/3 isn't on the level as the first 2/3 but it's still great start to finish.

I liked how it was nothing that I expected it to be and how raw the story was. 7.5/10

This is one I wanted to like and just hated. It reminded me of Crash and seemed overly pretentious and was something that repels me at a very basic philosophical level. And I disliked nearly every character. OK, the acting was pretty good but it wasn't enough to save this one for me.

That said I did like Dane Dehaan's performance as the son . We watched Chronicle last week and he was very good in that as well and it's worth checking out.
