this should make for some amusing theatre

quote:

Two Norwegian politicians say they have jointly nominated the former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden for the 2014 Nobel peace prize.

The Socialist Left party politicians Baard Vegar Solhjell, a former environment minister, and Snorre Valen said the public debate and policy changes in the wake of Snowden's whistleblowing had "contributed to a more stable and peaceful world order".

If the dronemeister can get one, surely Snowden can.

Rush Limbaugh was nominated for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, so keep things in perspective.

Now that there is funny... I hope he wins and then says something to the extent of "I deserve this as much as Obama deserves his"

If he travels to accept it, would the US arrest him?

Obama won it.

Pretty much means everyone is qualified to win it.

But the authorized killing of women and children and execution of American Citizens without trial is best for the security of our nation and world

If terrorists (Arafat), charlatans (Gore) and community organizers can win the Nobel, why not Snowden?

Award has lost its meaning for a long time. It's something to be laughed at now.

Nailed it.

I'd love to think that we could monitor and listen in on terrorist communication...but it'll be just like the lines in the Airport. Can't *profile* the probable terrorist...gotta be *fair* and listen to all of us. Equally. And being that is has been DEMONSTRATED that a Dem Party Administration will us this information against POLITICAL enemies in THIS COUNTRY, and that the Dem Party will remain in power for the foreseeable future...then it's a cryin shame that we will all be forced to FORFEIT what would and should be a great tool against the bad guys.

Bush would NEVER use the Government Security Apparatus...against our own citizenry. Nor would his HSA label Tea Party types as 'potential terrorists'. But this board knows that. Obama would, and has...and will continue to abuse that power against US...treating the Islamists 'fairly'.

Bottom line. Snowden is a hero. Screw the President and Government that no longer serves the Constitution that it is elected and sworn to serve...but turns on we who do.

Damn that silly Nobel. The next Constitutional POTUS ought to reward him with the Medal of Freedom. Boy that would cause a stink.

William Faulkner "won" one a long long time ago, but refused to accept it, citing it as being a "political hoax."

Yea, NPP jumped the shark a while back.

Both Snowden and "Woke up, it was a Chelsea Manning", were among the 259 nominees last year.
