Other than reading through 10-K's, 10-Q's, and the presentations on a company's website, what are some other good sources of financial data? I have done this already but want some info that drills down further.

Specifically I am looking for the most granular data available on operating profits, capital investments, etc by different divisions of a company instead of for the company as a whole. There are some notes and tables in the 10-Q's, 10-K's, and slides that touch on this but not with the detail that I am seeking.

Everything you need is in the 10-Ks, company presentations, and earnings calls. For greater context, also read the same docs for all of the competitors and major suppliers and customers. If you still have unanswered questions, management is usually just a phone call away. When I cannot get in touch with management or even an IR rep, I know there is a good chance management does not care about shareholders and I happily walk away.

If it's not in the SEC filings or investor relations presentations you won't get it unless you are an investor on the scale (e.g., institutional) where it's worth it for them to talk to you.

I agree with the other sentiment to read through the competitors etc;

I am currently at work doing a comparison of 10 different companies and each of the 10-K's I am reading is like 200+ pages, sometimes you will get it by operating segment, and sometimes you won't. All depends on what the company wants to tell you. That said, at the end of the day you aren't buying stock or bonds in the segment of the company you're buying the entire thing.....
