Picked up a few bottles at Trader Joe's yesterday. People were there buying cases of it so I figured why not. Just poured a glass of cab and after letting it breathe for a little while, it's not too bad for $2.99 a bottle.

I see the appeal

I've had both the "Chuck" reds and thought they were definitely better than the two whites.

The trader joe cheap wine is decent. I actually prefer Aldi cheap wine though. They have bottom of the barrel 2.99 but also have a range of $3-10 wine that's actually good...

I've had all sorts of wines, cheap and nice ones, and I honestly can't tell the difference after the first glass, so I never spend more money than I have to on wine.

Seriously...I'm turning into a beer snob but I can't tell the difference in wine. 3 buck chuck works for me. But yeah the Merlot is definitely better than the whites

How can they go back to the farm after they have seen the lights of gay Paris.

Apparently you don't travel much.

Get out some more.

Studies have been done where even wine snobs can't tell the difference between pricy and normal priced wines.

Good wine is good wine regardless of price. Same for bad wine.

Deal with it.

The bottle of wine I am drinking at the moment cost $8, so I'm better than you.

We know. It's been discussed here ad nauseam. And despite people trying to attack invented foes, nobody on this board claims that only expensive wines taste good.

This is me. Part of it is because I just don't like wine very much. Hops > grapes

I'm the same way. Can barely tell a difference or have a preference in a wine. One of the only ones I've really LIKED I liked because it reminded me of a lambic beer.

What I love is that I will open a bottle even if I just want a glass and don't have any problem if the rest gets poured down the drain.

I won't open even a $10 bottle unless it's going to be consumed.

(Kids use all my money so yes, I'm poor. )

Maybe I'd like wine a bit more if it had a bit of carbonation. It just tastes flat to me every time I drink it.
