What happened to Carly Simon and James Taylor?

They're two of my favorite singers, and since I'm not old enough to remember - what happened between them to lead to divorce?

I believe James Taylor had a bit of a heroin problem and fell into a depression. Pretty sure that had something to do with it.

Been years since I saw his vid or whatever but IIRC they had a son that got Taylor's forehead and Simon's jaw. Poor kid.
