Taking a Disney Cruise in a couple weeks. Cruise leaves Wed, but we are getting to Miami Tuesday morning. Lookng for a good hotel on the beach in South Beach to spend the day on the beach with my four year old. Any suggestions?

And not really child appropriate IMO. Loews is your best bet IMO. Close to Lincoln Road and really on Ocean Drive. But just be prepared for lots of skin from hot young girls and gay guys.

This. Loews is your best bet. Delano is a trendy singles spot. Also a place where some European hookers like to try and find wealthy men to drug and steal from. Just found this out from an article this week.
Also, Fountain Blu and Eden rock will party hard on weekends. LiV is there (like top nightclub in the world).
Loews is solid. On the beach (north end of SOBE), super nice and not a weekend hot spot.

Oh, and as for the teets, that is more on the south end of SOBE. Between Nicki Beach on first and the Clevelander around 15th. 90% of the topless chicks are nothing special though and there aren't that many that go topless.
You won't see any on the north end more than likely though. Plenty of hot chicks on the north end at the Delano and Sagamore though.

We are only going to be there one day and staying the night on a tuesday night. Is that still going to be crazy typical South Beach atmosphere.
We are looking to stay closer to southside towards 5th st since its closer to ports where disney cruise leaves from

You might also consider reading/posting on cruisecritic.com. They have a forum for disney cruises and also a board for ports, hotel advice, etc.

Actually, you will be fine then. Tuesday will have a couple of hot spots that will be packed out, but it will only be a few clubs. Tuesday is the slowest night of the week I would say.
The recommendations so far (Lowes and Delano) are way north of 5th. Up around 17th. Eden Roc and Fountain Blu aren't even in SOBE.
The hotels down around 5th are the OLD art deco hotels. The lobbys are often modern, but the rooms often are not so not sure what to recommend. I stayed at Casblanca one night and it was a shitty room with a window unit AC. Didn't much care, it was just with some girl I went home with that night that had a room there.
I can't really give you a good recommendation as to a hotel that far down.

Thanks for the advice. I see there is a marriot near fifth. I'm guessing that will do. I was also looking at lord Balfour and congress hotel

Why is it so bad for a child to see a grown woman's titties, especially if they are good titties? It's not like they will touch them (maybe their dad can though).

I wouldn't stay in South Beach, especially with a young child.
Jesus, I hate Miami.

Why? Worried they might see one of those gay people?
