Stopped in Lafayette to gas up yesterday, and next to the gas station there was a used car dealer that had 2 Lambos, 2 Audi R8s, an Aston Martin Vantage, a Bentley, a Nissan GT-R... I'm sure they buy them at auction or something like that, but do they really expect to sell these in Lafayette? They expect the rich Texans to cross the border? WTF?

A lot of folks living way beyond their means in Lafayette. 300k house with $900 note on vehicles. Living check to check. Wife shops at all the little boutiques in River Ranch whiles the husband bust arse over seas. Its quite comical. I know a few.

Every other podunk town in Louisiana has money b/c the oil field. Lafayette is no different.

Not hating on Lafayette, it's just a very odd place to find that type of dealership. If I'm going to drop $135,000 on a used Lambo, I want more than 2 to choose from. Even for my Porsche, I was very specific on what I wanted. I drove 600 miles to Dallas when I found what I wanted.

why you mad at Laffy..just because they are making money?
It's the service companies that make all the money and who send guys all over to work. There are many hundreds and they make big big money.
Don't knock em, congratulate them! When they are rolling, Louisiana is a better place.
Where do you call home...lets discuss how it so much better and if they have high end used vehicles for sale there.

Forbes dubbed laf number one int terms of mid sized city growth and population. Lafayette is booming right now. And yes, there is enough money in laf to support a used foreign sports car dealership.

Not at all, its comical when I have, one buddy that remain nameless, bust arse over seas to come home with very little in his bank account. He buys a brand new 80" TV then, a month later sitting on my sofa all but crying b/c he's not sure if he can afford some of his bills.

Sure. Yesterday I saw a Ferrari and Aston Martin within minutes of each other on the same road. Some areas are full of very well off people.

It's not like you are talking Bughattis and McLarens either.

If I'm not mistaken the median income in Youngsville, Broussard is fairly high. Quite a bit of folks with some cash out that way. Mostly oil and medical.

What you mean right now? Lafayette has been booming for over a decade. But took a huge hit when the moratorium was put into affect. I know of at least a hand full of local company's that picked up shop and headed west to Houston to find new customers b/c if they didn't, they would lose everything.

...on a related note, the R8 and the GT-R were badass. I've never been a fan of either based on pictures, but they were damn impressive up close.

in all of my experiences, the people that drive the older cars and live very conservative are the ones with millions in the bank
