wife and I are going to take my son and his g.f. to new Orleans for the weekend. I would really like some locals to give me some advice on where to take them and what to do besides the "normal" new Orleans vacationer's agenda. I've been to new Orleans a dozen times and would like to get some feedback from the locals.

help out.

they've both been to bourbon more than once. do they have some local joints with live bands and a dance floor? also, is there a good list of mom and pop restaurants?

Tip the bouncer a $20 at Hustlers (They have a tip jar to the left) - then pay the regular door cover and your son will get in. Trust me. Time to make it rain while the bitches are back in the room.

Zoo, aquirium, Jackson square. New Orleans isn't really fun until 18 and over

Of course. What dates are you thinking about?

Bring em to the WWII museum. Show them the quarter during the day but avoid Bourbon. Bring them to Magazine street to go buy stuff. You'll have trouble bringing them into any bar to go see music, though.

There is a Pels game on Saturday night

I know we suck but seeing an NBA game in person would be cool if they've never done that before

Also this. It's a fantastic museum. I need to go again

I agree with all this as well

There is plenty to do in N.O other than bourbon.
Post the restaurant request on the food board and you will get better answers

bourbon blows. I think he would like them to experience New Orleans and not just drunk touristville
