I have to get rid of an old mattress. It's in a condition that is unable to be donated to charity. Will the garbageman take it?

Throw it in a dumpster at a construction site.

Do you have a Parish disposal location? In Calcasieu we have two that residents can come and dump most anything, including matresses. You need ID to prove you live there also.

Ok I can check. I am sure I can schedule a special pickup with my garbage company for an extra fee, but I wonder if it's a ripoff. I"ll find out tomorrow. Thanks.

From what I see people just put them in the back of a truck and drive around until they fly out

Do you have service there that will pick up larger items? We do in BR.

GIve it to the guy who bought 10 gallons of bleach. He can kill his victims on the mattress.

If you were in BR, I'd say go drop it off in Gardere.
