I thought it was exceptionally good. Blanchett has to win the oscar, right? Woody Allen sure knows how to make an actress look great, too. Especially from behind.

I actually just read some stuff I hadn't been aware of. Oh well, already saw the movie, and it was good.

She's the odd on favorite right now.

Yep, it was a good movie and proves he can still direct.

Oh, and I think Sally Hawkins Bobby Cannavale are great, too.

Let's just say I won't have him babysit my hypothetical kids, but I sure do enjoy a lot of his movies.

He married his ex-girlfriend's adopted daughter.

He had one kid with Farrow (who says that Sinatra was the real father) and when it came time for the custody battle she claimed that he was a child molester.

The relationship with his wife came to light when Farrow found nude photos of her adopted daughter (who was 20) that Woody had taken.

Plus he has a history of marrying and dating young women (married a 16 year old when he was 19) and has made movies about his character dating extremely young women.

Just watched it last night.

It's a really dark movie. More disturbing than WA usually gets. Very few laughs in this one, but it is really thought provoking. Once again showing he is the greatest screen writer ever.

with no material evidence. A seven year old will say or believe anything you tell them to. Mia is a sweet woman and generally means well but she is a complete bat-shite crazy liar when it comes to Woody. A sane person does not adopt 20 kids thinking she can actually parent them all adequately.

This was really not unusual among the New York jewish community in the 50s.

Everyone (including me) thought this was extremely creepy and strange at the time. It made all the other shite about him seem believable.

However, they are now married 20 years, and Soon-Yi is obviously not some kind of victim at this point. I think a prolonged (healthy as far as we know) relationship kind of vindicates him of all that creepiness, and supports the case that all the other accusations are probably bullshite.

Woody Allen is a titan in the history of our culture when it comes to humor, filmmaking, and writing. No one comes even close to his level of output, and most of it is high quality. Some of it is immortally brilliant.

Bottom line is, there is almost no reason to suspect he has done anything wrong at this point. Enjoy his brilliance with a clear conscience.

Yeah, the most curious thing of all is that all the molestation stuff came out after Mia discovered the nude photos in Woody's apt. And supposedly Mia knew about it before then--but would you be hanging out in the apartment of a man who molested your daughter? Inviting him to family functions?

The argument on that is that when these custody battles take place it can either be a case of one parent fabricating a story or the family knowing about it but keeping it quiet out of embarrassment or to keep the family together (neither puts Farrow in a good light, the latter puts Allen in a bad light).

The daughter (now an adult) still claims that she was molested. One of the sons Tweets sarcastic damning posts about Allen every now and then.

I don't know the truth of what happened, but seeing Allen and his wife in documentaries has made him way less creepy to me. A lot of folks think of him and his wife and still think of her as that child from the family photos. She's a really intelligent woman in her 40's who dotes on her husband. Not the image people remember.
