I live by the lsu lakes and sounds like a transformer blew. Lots of fire trucks and sirens heading that direction right before. But I digress...

Is there any way to find out if there is an estimated time power will be restored? Does the power company tell little people like me these things? Trying to gauge whether I want to stay with the in laws or die a frozen death.

I imagine they're gonna work it as fast as they can. People would fricking die without their heaters around here.

I think entergy can send you text messages if you call and report the outage.

If you have Entergy, call 1-800-968-8243. They will give you an estimated time of restoring the power.

Thanks for the help. I hope I can survive two more hours. The only thing keeping me from sinking into the black is the warmth from my oversized cell phone.

Grow a sack and put on a jacket. Haven't ran my heater all winter. It's a cool 55 in the house currently.

Cold and dry weather is bad for my complexion. This is why northerners are so ugly.

But not to worry. My neighbor is yelling "i need power" at the top of his lungs. I'm sure that will be the impetus for speedy restoration.
