I loved afghan whigs....back in like 1994 or so. I saw them live a few years ago, and they still rocked it out.

Saw them in the 90s too. I think Love Battery opened up.

I havent seen them in a long time... I'm guessing it was at The Varsity, they started the set out with The Stones "Rocks Off" The stage was set after that...

edit: The best was a the old Howlin Wolf on Thanksgiving night ~1998... Kermit Ruffins opened up and i think I finally left at 3am, about 4 hours in to their set... I was absolutely wiped by that time..

I know I'm going to get shite for this, but my good buddy is playing drums for them right now. He's supposed to be on this next tour with them, although he quit his main band and is trying to find a new permanent gig (if he finds one between now and then he won't be going)...but he is a badass, especially since he's only 29.

Started their set 1-2 hours late... played for several hours... and Dulli left the stage several times to "go make a phone call."

Other than that, they were frickin ELECTRIC that night! One of their most notorious shows of all time.

Can't wait for the new album and to see them live again for fourth time.

Saw him play a few years ago at the R Bar in New Orleans - was an all acoustic show. He used to own a piece of that bar, but I believe he sold his share.
