Will be blackening some fish later tonight. I have frozen cauliflower and wondering if anyone has roasted it and the results were similar to fresh. Thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. Trying to stay in for Snowmageddon 2014 and not venture out for fresh stuff

Never used frozen. My only concern would be the liquid as the cauliflower defrosts. Perhaps placing them on a rack on top of a sheet pan. Therefore they would be elevated.

Draining may help but I think texture will still suffer because of ice crystals/moisture in the cauliflower.

a crappy restaurant I know of does it. Mushy.

my kids like frozen cauliflower mixed with sour cream, butter, cheese and bacon bits. Loaded cauliflower is quite tasty.

I'd parboil them if frozen. Then roast.

Will wait for another time. Afraid it will be mushy.

Just boil and purée them with butter, milk/cream, salt pepper and garlic. Like Mashed Potatoes. Fresh for roasting.

You can do it but it will be more mushy. We did it when we couldnt find fresh. It did the job but fresh is best

It will work. Like above, put on a sheet pan and roast in a hot oven. Turn up to broil last few minutes and they will crisp up.
