Here is the link

Says the spotty track record of owner Stephen Ross is the reason. This guy was considered the front runner. How much of a dumpster fire is the Dolphins front office when the assistant GM for CLEVELAND doesn't want any consideration for the GM position in Miami? lol.

I've lived down here for 12 years now. I am a fan of almost every South Florida team.....except for the Dolphins. lol. I'd rather them win then lose, but I don't really give a shite if they do.

The media is running away with this narrative and it's out of control.

While Miami's front office isn't exactly the gold standard, this is blown completely out of proportion. Ray Farmer doesn't have extensive experience in college scouting and didn't wow in his interview.

The Dolphins interviewed Nick Cesario from New England today, and would be a fantastic hire if finalized.

The fact that they're taking their time with each candidate, of course, has been turned into "no one wants the job" by ESPN.

The irony is, that the guy they fired in Jeff Ireland played such a big role in the dearth of credibility this team has in the public's eye and it's lingering in their current GM search even though the biggest problem is gone.

Well here we go with sources again. I'm so over that.

Anyway, Cesario has turned down every previous request for an interview, which have been several, until today.

So the "no one wants the job" narrative is pure bullshite.

Well when people say no to the job, thats not really just sources talking

I mean, its not unrealistic to see that the job wouldnt be very appealing if the owner wont let you make a coaching change if you wish, and that could possibly mean hed interfere with other parts of the job.

The Jets went through the same thing last year

Life long Fins fan.... Embarrassing. Ross is a clown and this team is going nowhere fast.

I don't think they offered it to anyone outright yet man. So it'd be pretty hard to get a "no" when no one was asked. They certainly did NOT offer the job to Farmer.

If they don't make real strides next year, then Philbin is probably out. So, the GM would have a say there.

The only convoluted aspect of all this is whether the new GM would have direct hiring power of a coach. We don't know that. He'll have input, but we don't know about final say.

That's it, that's all. A far cry from what everyone is being told nationally.

For the record, I'm not being a homer here. I'm no Ross fan by any stretch of the imagination.

But this whole story has been very embellished, which after this past season, I'm completely used to and it doesn't bother me any more.

I was disappointed Gamble and others turned down an interview but wasn't a fan of Farmer. If Cesnario ends up with the job, its a win. This is completely tied to inheriting Philbin and not having the full control to get rid of him. Ross unfortunately loves Philbin for some reason but I think he'll eventually realize why GM's aren't that interested.

Yeah that's not surprising at all. As I said, I'm no Steven Ross fan.

Not a Ross fan either but that sounds like BS. One of the more successful men in the country totally botched a high level interview?

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Patriots director of pro personnel Nick Caserio has turned down the Dolphins' general manager job. Caserio interviewed for the second time on Saturday and was offered the Dolphins' GM job, but may has decided to stay in New England and wait for better opportunities. Miami is now down to Brian Gaine, Titans VP Lake Dawson, and Bucs director of player personnel Dennis Hickey as candidates to replace Jeff Ireland.
