My boss will say it after every sentence for no reason at all. "Ok that sounds good, *pause* so.

yeah, because the ending "so" implies that the person is going to continue talking

makes it hard to have a conversation when you don't when the other person is done

Yes it was and I still have never met anyone who ends sentences with so on a regular basis
