Hypothetically speaking, would it be legal for someone in Louisiana to invest in a business which either grows or dispenses marijuana legally? I'm talking strictly monetary support.

Ftr, this is just for curiosity's sake.

I think your problem would be with the banks. I've read that banks in Colorado and Washington are reluctant to take money from dispensaries due to federal laws.

I was speaking more about the not so distant future in which it will be federally legal.

A small investment in food trucks, say in Boulder, should yield pretty good dividends.

That's why it is hypothetical. I don't have the time, money or inclination to get anything like that started. Just for my own edification.

You mean if the Feds legalized but La didn't? So if you invested could you be charged in La for conspiracy or something like that? Doubt it but some shithead DA in Caddo or St Tammany would prob try.

It should be a combination of Taco Bell and Waffle House + delivery.

You're welcome for your first million.

Poster above correct. "Banks" are the issue. Upon applying for said loan they want u to sign off saying the money is not being used in violation of state and federal law. While legal in said state (colo), still remains "illegal" under federal law, which causes most investors "pause" before applying / accepting money from the banks.

Will attempt to post pics from an investment passed on by a client of mine. Grow house in Colorado. He said every plant actually had a barcode attached for regulation purposes!

You can purchase stock right now in Advanced Cannabis Solutions (CANN). They're up over 400% YTD.

ETA: It's OTC though.
