you're a free agent. You can go sign with a contender but make less money or you can go play with a lesser team and make more money.

I gotta go with a lesser team and more money.

then again, you really cant go wrong with whatever check you earn in the MLB, NFL, or NBA

Depends on how much money I've already made and how comfortable my life will be if I have to stop playing tomorrow.

If both of those are taken care of, then go ahead and sign me up for the contender.

Depends on the difference between the contender and the money.

$1 million to play for contender vs $10 mil to play for an awful team?

I'm taking the $10 million.

$1 million vs $1.5 million
I'll take contender

It depends on what city it is, but I'd take contender.

Give me an example then. I would like to think I could manage my money up to that point in my career when I made a decision. That, and to be honest, Is there really a difference in 10 million when you have already made a $100M?

How many times has a player actually taken less money to go to a contender? I doubt there are many agents out there that don't do everything they can to make sure the player takes the bigger check.

10 mil for a chance at a ring that cost like a few thousands? Nah

It's all about the money.

However, if the difference was playing in Milwaukee for 15 million or a warm weather contender for 12, I might reconsider.

Take the money from the lesser team who will eventually trade you to a contender at some point when they try to rebuild
