Wonder Woman Gal Gadot laughs off critics calling her 'too skinny' for the role

**Update: Apparently she has signed on to reprise the role at total of three times at the moment, including a full length feature.**

quote:

"Comments from fans upset with the decision saw the Israeli actress described as too 'anorexic skinny' to play DC Comics' legendary superheroine.

But in a recent interview with Israeli television show Good Evening With Gai Pines, the 28-year old shared her thoughts on the public outcry over her body image.

"I represent the Wonder Women of the new world," she said. "Breasts, anyone can buy for 9,000 shekels and everything is fine."

Nevertheless, Gadot, also a model, will be gaining some 'body mass' before taking on her role as Wonder Woman. "The physical preparations that I'm starting now, it's a very serious training regime - Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, Brazilian," she said."

I think these comments come off as really idiotic.

She represents the new women? Women are as large as they have ever been across the world. They most definitely do not look like a skinny model, but neither does Wonder Woman.

She sounds stupid. It's definitely not just the breasts area that she's too skinny in.

Also it has nothing to do with what the fans "want" in a woman. They want accuracy when compared to the source material.

I won't watch the movie with her playing Wonder Woman. The studio really needs to rethink casting this role as the film is going to suffer heavily if they don't recast WW.

This is a movie forum. The purpose of this forum is to discuss movie related topics.

I posted an article related to a movie that has been heavily discussed on this forum.

I don't see the problem! Stop being a bitch for the sake of being one.

I might give it a chance on cable but I doubt it unless the reviews are very impressive. I swore I would not watch the remake of Conan or Red Dawn and I have still not watched either film. I know it was easy to pass on both as they both apparently sucked but I think WW will suck as well without a voluptuous woman in the role. At least 50%, but more likely 75%, of WWs appeal was visual. If you take away her looks you are destroying the character.

Wonder Woman of the new world? Girl needs to eat a sammich. Has no curves at all and is built like a 12 year old boy...basically the opposite of Wonder Woman.

Neither of these is Superman/Batman.

Hey, look, there is a distinct possibility that DC is going to completely screw the pooch here. Instead of building off MoS, they're rushing a movie full of characters thats sorta Justice League but not Justice League, combined with all the plot leaks, casting choices, etc. This has pooch screw written all over it.

Do you agree with my assessment of WWs appeal? If I am right, and I believe I am, I don't see how this film works.

Isn't WW supposed to be a minor supporting character in the film?

I thought we were talking about a full length WW film and not a Justice League movie? If she plays a minor roll I will likely watch a JL film.
