I find it kind of ambiguous whether he was being a douche or sincere...

...doesn't really matter to me though. I think I like the guy even after what they did to my Saints.

Going up to a player immediately after you end their season and sticking your hand out will always be seen as mocking in the heat of the moment, even if he wasn't intending it to be

You can shake his hand after the game, not right then

I thought his tone was pretty honest. It didn't sound sarcastic or like taunting, just amped up.

ETA: It wasn't technically after the game, but that play determined it, assuming Seattle didn't fumble away a snap. Still, probably poor timing not helped by his combative return fire in front of national tv.

Well that's the other guy's fault for taking it wrong.

Sincere or not, it's a dick move.

It doesn't matter what sport or what level, It's really easy for the guy on the winning side to be extra nice to the loser in the immediate aftermath. As if the loser is going to immediately turn and say "yeah man, wow what a great play! good job"

That's what the post game handshake is for (and some losers can't even handle that sometimes)

Either way, the fact that Sherman took such great offense to Crabtree's reaction is what baffles me. I imagine if Crabtree would've caught a game winning TD over Sherman and then chased him down with hand extended Sherman wouldn't have taken it too well...

Given the reports of their history it sounds like Crabtree is probably more at fault overall - but Sherman sounding crazy on national television is what has people thinking he's the one who was in the wrong

I agree. If Sherman wouldn't have went crazy afterwards (throat grab, interview) it wouldn't have looked that bad for him

it's not about the tone or words. any mature adult knows mocking and assholery when they see it. hell, he even showed his intent toward crabtree in the interview. sherman is a "slap you in the face if i win" type of guy. plus he's seems like a bitter player for whatever reason.

I loved it when Hilton lit his arse up. He can't hang with speed receivers.

No he's not, did you see him after the Saints game? He was very complimentary.

The reports of their history solely reported by Sherman and his brother?

A little disingenuous, but not worthy of a face smack. Cant blame him for being jacked up

Dont blame crabtree for not wanting to congratulate him 8 fricking seconds after his season ended. Sherman isnt that smart if he was surprised by that response.

definitely

From everything I've heard. His father busted his arse as a garbage man in Compton, kept Sherman from falling into that culture, chose Stanford over USC because of the degree, chose to play DB over WR. He also apparently likes wrestling.

I don't see it as bitter so much as insecure to an extent.

A need for validation from external places.

I mean he wasn't a 1st round pick, and he is probably the bst corner in the NFL right now,so that may motivate him.
