All fine and dandy until that 1 in whatever is YOUR child.. Then how would you feel? Giving your their stand point..Yeah, if the child dies from not getting a vaccine that would be pretty significant... But would you rather know that your child is in a much better place or would you rather be in a situation where you have to take care of your child for the next____years until you die because they aren't capable of caring for themselves?? Still their decision any way you look at it just like it's yours..
Do you even statistics, bro?
The odds of polio, whooping cough, measles, etc. harming your child is a lot greater than the minuscule odds of having a fatal or permanent reaction to a vaccine.

Yep, and it's completely fair for these people to not be able to send their kids to school either. Private or public for that matter.

Curious, why would wetting a metal chain make it hurt worse? Not like it absorbs water.

You ever watched that series? It's pretty honest and well-researched.
For the most part, but they really reached on their religion episode.

If you dig deep enough through the links you get to the Actual Interactive Map which shows numbers for the dots. Da fuq is up with all the chicken pox up North?

Wet chain is way more painful...everyone knows that.

While it's not fair to put the whole blame on someone like Jenny McCarthy, this is what happens when people who can act (maybe) or sing take up some cause and people start to think they know more than the scientists and doctors who deal with these issues everyday.
I remember back in the 50s and 60s the hideous pictures of people in iron lungs because they had polio. That disease has all but been eliminated because of the polio vaccines available. Anybody, and I mean anybody who would not vaccinate their children should not be parents in the first place.

Exactly. I'm 32 years old, and have never had the flu. I've only had 2 flu shots in my life. The first was 6 years ago when my wife was pregnant and couldn't take much more than a Tylenol without a risk to our baby. I didn't want that year to be the year I get the flu and give it to my wife. The 2nd was this past year, and that is because baby # 2 was born last summer, and couldn't get the vaccine until he was 6 months old, which was late December at his 6 month checkup. It isn't always about you, but for the safety of your family and others you come into contact with.

From a psychological standpoint, I can understand the passion behind the anti-vaccination movement if your child has autism, although that passion is misplaced.
Children are vessels of our hopes and dreams from their first heartbeat to their first breath, to their first step.... we envision a limitless future for our kids.
So I can imagine how devastated a diagnosis of autism could be for parents, all their expectations and dreams for their child are crushed. Thus they wanted-needed- something tangible to blame. So when Andrew Wakefield suggested that vaccinations are to blame, these parents now have a target to vent their frustration.
They could not be more wrong, but their passion blinds them to reasonable conclusions that vaccinations are not to blame.
It is sad.

Exactly....and younger kids can't handle those vaccines yet, and some of those illnesses would be catastrophic to them. That's who unvaccinated children and adults are putting at unnecessary risk.

What if it was wet with autism causing aluminum salt adjuvants???? Or deadly mercurial preservatives????
Just kidding of course. Dumbasses should get vaccinated.

why..can't they do their own research and choose whether or not to vaccinate just as you choose to??
Like others have said, it's not just for you and your child, it's for everyone around you.
And EVERYONE who has done the actual research has concluded that there is no link between vaccines and autism, but there is a major link between not vaccinating and a multitude of deadly diseases.
In short, don't be a fricking idiot and put others at risk. Vaccinate.
