Any fans out there? Started watching on Netflix. First few episodes were okay and then I was hooked by the third. Gets progressively better as season goes on. Really enjoyed.

I like Mark Maron. One of my favorite stand up comedians. It's a good show. I hope he makes more episodes.

Okay. I will tell you why I like him. I just like the way he turns his jokes into long stories.
I like his method of delivering humor. It's different.
He's not high up on the laugh-per-minute meter, but that's not the point. The laugh is secondary to the story.

There isn't any politics involved. It surrounds his own personal life and those around him.

not caught up with the new season i think. the premier was great with chris hardwick and talking dead.
i became of fan of his podcast a few yrs back and that endeared him to me a little.
at first glance maron is just a neurotic, narcisistic (sp?) mess who shits all over like 80% of other comics.
the podcast allowed him to actually meet most of the comics he's shite on or didn't get and get a better understanding of them. it's funny what an actual conversation can do.
since then, i think his self awareness has gotten much better and he's mellowed and that helps with both his comedy and his relationships with other comics. he still seems to be somewhat of a mess in his dating life but my app for his podcast hasnt worked in like 6 mos so i haven't heard him in a while.

I haven't heard his podcasts or read his book. But I would imagine that he doesn't live as humbly or modestly as his alter-ego on the show. Am I right? I would think he's fairly wealthy by this point.
