Thinking seriously about it and wanted some input. The end of football season is a good time to think about it.

We rarely watch DTV.

The kids watch content on their iPads and just use their TVs for XBox. They never watch DTV on their TVs. They won't miss a beat.

The wife and I mostly watch stuff on our iPads. We have two TVs that we use, both of which have Apple TVs connected so watching content on the TVs is no problem either directly or with Airplay.

We use Netflix obviously. We can buy our shows on iTunes for $20 a season. I'll miss HBOGO.

We get all of our movies Airplaying from shady streaming sites so no problem there.

I had Hulu+ a couple of years ago but dumped it because most of the content on it was stuff I could get on iPad apps. How is it these days?

I think I've got a pretty good set up to cut the cord.

Thoughts on other's experiences and ideas?

For me, its HBO original programming and sports. Thats the main reason I hold onto cable.

GoT is now the only show I watch religiously on HBO now.

I've watched The Wire twice and have completed all of the other good HBO series from the past.

It's gonna hurt but I think I can let go of HBO.

With sports, the only thing I'd not get at home would be LSU games on ESPN if I got an antenna to watch the CBS games.

I wanted to bump this. I live next door to my mother and I can always use her house for LSU game viewing. She has a 5 bedroom has and all of her kids are gone, so I won't be bothering anyone.

But, HBO is going to be hard to let go.

As for as my Q: I live in Zachary and my house is just under 20 miles to Baton Rouge (downtown). Is there any reason to think a 35 mile HD antenna would not be enough to pick up just about anything you can pick up in the BR area?

I'm already a subscriber to Amazon Prime and Netflix. I've already got an xbox or ps3 on my TVs.

Anyone else who has cut the cord have any advice?

By the time you pay for all the amazon prime, etc, you should just keep your DTV. If you enjoy watching HBO and sports, don't be a mooch and cheap arse, keep your DTV.

I just bought an android box for all of my streaming. The box runs xbmc and is pretty much plug and play. I have a roku with a friends hbogo login but just to test the android box I watched this weeks true detective on Monday.
