How many of you have been there, and what are your thoughts? We discovered this place a few months back, and it has become a staple for us. Our favorite place on the Northshore [still love Jacque Imo's, Adolfo's and Cafe Amelie best :) ], I highly recommend giving this a try. Their food is outstanding (especially the pulled pork, oysters, fried green tomatos, filet and macadamian crusted tuna), plust they do $4 martinis. The wait staff is super friendly, and the owners are always there offering up conversation.

When I travel for business there I stay at a BnB around the corner. I hVe been wanting to try this place but have been going to the Italian place just down the road. Starts with a P, maybe?
Anyhow, I will try Mac's now.

Del Porto? If so, I haven't been there. Based on your frequency, I shall check it out.

One thing about Mac's is that I went there for lunch a while back, and it was just OK. It's the only time I had a sub par experience there. The owner's dad (who helps run the place) emailed me personally after I made note of this in my urbanspoon review stating that his son, Mac, was not able to be there every lunch day due to other responsiblities, and that since then he has dedicated himself full time to the resteraunt. While I question anyone opening up a place and not being there open to close every day, I loved that they genuinely cared about their quality, fixed it and even took the time to personally respond to my criticism in a positive manner. He never posted these things publicly, which meant he wasn't making excuses to the review board; he simply explained the issue to me. Very classy move.
