The 2011-12 SB was ours for the taking and it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. That week 12 arse whoopin' we put on the eventual Super Bowl Champs on MNF @ home 49-24 would have been repeated in the NFCCG. Saints would have handled NE. We were the 3rd seed but still would have been hosting. Would have been the 2nd SB win in 3 seasons.

Late in the 4th after the 66 yard pass to Jimmy and us going for 2pts putting us up by 3, you'd think our Defense would at the very least only give up a field goal for them to send it into OT since we were playing in Candlestick. But no our D was THAT terrible and let them drive 85 yards. The next week SF ends up going into OT and losing to one of the worst SB winners in recent memory.

The box scores for this division playoff game shows PT had 1 carry for 6yds and Ivory had 9 for 23. Poor Drew

This has to be the worst playoff loss or loss period in Saint history. The fact we had the record breaking offensive year in the books and one defensive stop away from clear favorites to host the trophy.

Worst than the 06 loss in Chicago, worst than the 2000 loss to the Vikings due to the fact we had just won our fist playoff game against the greatest show on turf, the only other one that comes close is the 1987 blow out by the Vikings. That loss undermined one of the greatest seasons as a Saints fan for me.

I was at this game and it was a tough loss

Pierre Thomas had one carry due to a concussion on a hard hit

That 2011 Saints team should have won the SB that year.

I forgot about that.... Still telling when you have less than 30 yards on the ground and one of the porous defenses in the history of defenses. Still have to feel sorry for Drew

The better team lost that game. God damn our offense was legit that year. 5 turnovers and still almost won the game. But we game them the with all the turnovers and the fact we let that trash Alex Smith drive 70 yards back to back still haunts me.

Had we won that game, the Jimmy Graham play would be looked upon like the Lynch run.

Saints would have won the Super Bowl that year were it not for Gregg Williams moronic schemes.

I fricking hate Seattle but tonight made me happy because of how things went in the playoff game against SF for us. SF losing on essentially the last play and Vernon Davis crying and yelling "Wah!! Dis bullshitz" was awesome.

Seattle beat us the year after we won it all starting our 6th string RB and a host of other injuries. This year they beat us because our offense played like shite.

F the 9ers forever. Seattle's window is this year. After the cold weather debacle of a Super Bowl we will all as a fanbase be happier when we roll off the next few years hoisting the Lombardi.

we won it because sharper was playing like he was 25 instead of 35. look at what happened the following years, we fell apart without his playmaking ability

Dunno what a dipshot is but Saints D was mostly fueled by Darren Keep Your Hands to Yourself Sharper's turnovers. Gregg Williams was a clueless dipshit married to the blitz and, in the end, refused to do the obvious thing ensuring coverage on Vernon Davis. Now… I know you were like five years old at the time so it might be hard for you to remember.
