Do you know of a bank in the BR area that will count coins?

I have a box of coins from years back that I need to get rid of. I'm really interested to see how much is in there. It'a box that is about 1 foot square and heavy as hell.

Most Capitol one banks have a coin counting machine in them.

did you check for old silver coins first?

They are worth more than the legal tender value.

Go to albertsons and dump in the coin star. You'll pay 9% but it's worth it.

Some make you separate it all and put it into the individual sleeves.

Go to the bank where you have an account. They will probably make you wrap them.

Whitney bank if you have an account. They made me unroll all of mine to count.

Neighbors has a machine that only charges 4% for members

They waive the fee if you deposit into a minors account

I agree. I took about 200 bucks up to publix a month or two ago and the 20 was worth not having to roll all those coins for 3 or 4 hours.

I don't know. The last time I did this was probably 30 years or so ago and the bank did it for free. They had one of those big coin counting machines that they just poured it all into. I think I got around $75.00. Thanks for the response.

No. I haven't and don't really feel like messing with it. That pile of coins probably goes back over 20 years so there might be one or two in there.

Also, if you get a gift card instead of cash from coinstar, they don't charge the service charge. So get an amazon gift card or something.

Every Capitol One bank seems to have this, it's free if you deposit it. It's the only thing I miss about Capitol One. Now I'm keeping it all in a 5-gallon water jar in my closet. So in about five years I'll probably be starting this thread on here
