Another good CC option?

About 5 months ago I got the Chase preferred CC and received the 50k points from it. I will soon be making some big purchases on a card IE: honeymoon, wedding stuff. Is there another credit card I can benefit more from, by getting more initial sign up points or something along those lines? TIA

I'm using Barclaycard Arrival, they have a nice signup bonus

With the point devaluations of 2013, the Barclay card is moving up in usefulness. I actually got one last week to take the sting out of flying to Boston twice in May. The bonus has a value of $440 when you redeem for travel.
However, your Chase preferred gets 2x on travel, so if you're close to an award you may want to put hotel, flight, etc of the honeymoon on that.
Or, another route right now is Southwest airlines card has a 50,000 point offer. That's at least two roundtrip tickets somewhere.
Two other options are American and the US Airways card. Get both of those and the points are good for either airline since they are merged. With the offers available, getting both should net you 80/90,000 miles total.
Note: the frequent flyer accounts won't merge until probably later this year.

I just signed up for both SW cards. That will net me 104,000 points. Another 6000 gets me a companion pass for 2 years. 110,000 points is worth 9-10 flights.

I also forgot to mention cards like the Hyatt and IHG cards that could be huge for your honeymoon. Those come with free night bonuses. Hyatt gives two nights when you hit the sign up bonus and redeemable at ANY of their hotels. Want that $800 a night room for two nights in Paris? You can have it. If your wife gets it too, that's four nights.

I don't think it will happen that quickly. That is generally one of the last things they generally do other than rebrand the planes.
Southwest and air tran still have not merged theirs together.
Another option is to get your fiancé to sign up for the CSP and merge the points y'all have right before y'all want to use them

I got the Barclay Arrival card in September. 40,000 point bonus. You get 2 points for every dollar spent. You get 10% of your points back when you redeem them for travel. This basically results in 2.222 points per $1 spent.

Whoops, overlooked that.
Typing out all these options make me want to cruise for another card
Definitely need to get the US Airways card before they stop issuing new accounts. Looks like 2015 when that will happen, which is good for me.

Just FYI if you are looking to get US airways miles they are offering 50% mileage bonus on transfers to one another.
So you could sign up for the AA card for 50,000 miles and convert them to 75,000 us airway miles

Yes, but I would not let them sit long. Chase is notorious for closing accounts with no reason and taking the points

The SO is now saying she doesnt think he credit is good enough for the CSP card. Looks like I will be getting another type of card.

What's her score? Do you have a credit karma account for her? I don't think the CSP is real hard to get.

How often can I apply for these cards and get the points, if I was to cancel after getting the points? Ill probably keep the CSP because I like it.

Would it hurt to get the SW and the Barclay card? and put 1k points on one and get the 40k points and 2k on the other and get the 40k points? Or would that be doing too much?

Yes it's good for reward bookings. Yes you can link both accounts to one RR #.

This just depends on your travel needs. If you got a few flights coming up that you can use these on then I see no reason not to.
