Large body for those yard or 2 to go and not to shabby run blocking would help out our running game.

Just lined up at HB in the NFLPA game and scored TD.

I dunno about Copeland, but I wouldn't mind replacing Jed.

He really kind of sucks in short distances. You would think when a 280 lb dude needs to get you a yard he'd get you like 2 or two and a half (at least sometimes)but he always seems to get it by maybe a few inches (or sometimes short by a few inches). It was a pretty average to below average wrinkle in the offense.

And the answer is no. You can get fullbacks off the scrap heap and udfa, no need to waste a draft pick on one.

I think Jed is a better receiving back but Copeland is a better blocking back. If Copeland could drop bout 15 to 20 pounds and be 260 - 265 and be a better receiver I could see it.

You probably right he could get a full back in a rookie free agency.

He's actually really quick for his size and can make plays.

Though Jed is still good and we have a FB signed to the practice team.

Copeland is getting drafted. While he has potential. I would rather spend the pick on other needs.

He can knockout Keuchley and Willis. Would be great getting to the second level so we can break runs..

an issue that we don't notice as much, FB blocking is pretty important. jed is great, but he isn't anywhere near probowl caliber

I think Jed was merely serviceable this season.

I see him in the mold of iron head heyward if he can develope his hands to be a decent receiver. Imagine copeland blocking for Sproles, a crease and Sproles is gone.

quote:

Heyward, at 5'-11" and reportedly between 250-340 pounds (the latter is arguably more accurate) was a punishing runner who was also a devastating blocker and good receiver. Heyward slimmed down

Not unless he can play special teams. He's not the most cerebral guy and cost his team in crucial situations.

Saints should just swap the Black for Purple if we keep drafting all these LSU players.

Is FB really a position of need at this point, especially spending a draft pick on?

Do the saints need a better running game?

Would a physical FB help with run blocking and pass protection?

It would have helped in Seattle and in other games where we play outdoors in the elements.

The saints have exactly how many lsu players on their roster. That's right ZERO

Now Arizona might need to change their colors.
