What's the best value for speakers for an iPhone 5?

Is bluetooth the way to go? Or is the old fashioned dock a better idea?

It's for my gf for Valentines Day so I don't mind spending a little more on it for a nice one.

TIA.

Just cut a hole in a toilet paper tube and stick two thumb tacks in it for a stand. Put phone in tube. Win.

IMO Bluetooth speakers are better just because you can operate it from your hand. I know best buy has some good speakers there. My girlfriend just got the UE Mobile Boombox, and despite it being kinda small it sounds pretty good. Other than that one I don't know of any specific one to get though.

Aye. Tis a manly store for us manly men, lass.
I always buy crap I shouldn't, just cause there was a cool tool I didn't have.

I'm sorry but the beats pill is garbage. I just picked up the Bose and it is very nice. Honestly though if I could return it I would get the Logitech.

The Logitech and the Bose soundwise are very similar. The reason I like the Logitech is that it's much more portable than my Bose is. They make a case for the Bose but it's just not really a good idea to carry it around. The Logitech is way more rugged.

Listening to my Bose Soundlink Mini now. It's not going to rock the neighborhood but it sounds pretty damn good for how small it is.

My buddy has a bluetooth speaker roughly half the price and he was impressed with the sound compared to his. It's up to you to decide if its worth it.

The Bose is what I have now. For $199 I expected a little more but it's a very solid speaker.

Everyone is just naming what they have, as usual
in threads like this! I don't own a Bluetooth speaker but I have heard must of the ones listed and I am telling you your girl will like the JBL Pulse much more than a Bose. The Bose has a tiny but better sound when you crank them both up to full blast but that will probably happen less than 5% of the time she uses it. The other 95% of the time she would prefer the Pulse and it's light show that goes with the music! They are so cool! Plus the pulse has a badass iPhone app that lets you control everything.

Honest answer, I bought a cheap Ravon Bluetooth stereo at Wal-Mart. It was about $50, and it suits my needs just fine.

It doesn't have high end volume, but it gets loud enough for me.

Don't overlook the JBL Flip with indoor/outdoor capabilities. Bluetooth. Tons of reviews at amazon and bestbuy.
