...buffalo trace here I come.

What did y'all replace your Old Charter 10 year old with?

No ducks in the field...none flying...still going to give some geese hell in the morning.

JB. You know a lot about geese. Explain this.

Farmer can't get rid of geese so we get to go kill them. On monday we see 5,000 plus but they won't come within range. We tried stalking but couldn't get close. They're all over the property though.

Go back Tuesday to the spot they wanted at first light. Didn't see a single goose on the whole farm. Farmer hasn't been able to get rid of them and then they just disappear. No way we just scared em all off.

I have no idea. A lot of times I think they know what the hell is up. Like some smartass bastards. When you don't want to hunt them, they stay. When you do, they don't.

Geese are funny creatures. You wax em on the X one day. I mean really hammer down. Think you've got it figured out. Next thing you know they're 20 miles away.

The craziness is what keeps me after em.

But I really I no idea.

ETA I'd bet they'll be back within a couple days though if they were there that long.

I bet they're back already. There were a good bit of specks mixed in there too. I still haven't killed a goose and that was supposed to be our opportunity.

I also hate to think that farmer tries to run em off but they knew the difference in hunters with guns. I don't like being outsmarted by a goose.

What was he shooting them with? And how did he go about doing so?

Like you said, I think they learn the difference between a pissed off farmer and a hunter who stays for several hours

I don't know what the farmer did. I didn't fire a shite at them. The others may have fired 5 total.

I didn't have to replace the 8 as I was already on it. I did enjoy a bottle of 10 every once in a while though.

Had this discussion at the uptown Funroe liquor store at Christmas. OC has run out of 10. All they have now is 8, so if you want 10, keep it a few years, then drank.

I was pretty much the same way. I even mix in some AA when feeling cheap.
