Clark would be a solid hire. The name I'm most intrigued by is Brian Jenkins from Bethune-Cookman.

That said, I fully expect to end up with someone like Sceflo. Maybe Mike Dubose, if we're lucky.

What intrigues you about Jenkins? I've honestly never heard of him.

Why? Why would anyone want him?
I guess I'd get a good laugh out of it if he's hired.

In the mid 2000s when Wake had Riley Skinner and was dominating the ACC he was quite the get. Never wanted to leave Wake and his value plummeted from there. Hard to win at Wake.

His team beat a FBS team, in a blowout; it was a bad FBS team, but that's an impressive feat for a HBCU.

37-11 record at a HBCU that was pretty middle of the road when he got there. Young guy, but with experience. I would like it better if his expertise were in defense but all things considered he seems like a home run hire to me, which probably means it won't happen.

I'd love to see Bill Clark get this opportunity. If ANYONE can start a fire under that program it's him. HUGE Bill Clark fan even though he broke my heart when he left Prattville.

I have known Jim Grobe for 31 years. Know his wife and sons. He is as quality a man and coach as I have ever seen. Wake Forest will never be a football power because you just cannot get ANY marginal student into school. Theu just did not have the "bosses".

It was not long ago when Jim was on a list to replace CLM if he bolted to Michigan. Jim flew to Nashville to talk to me about LSU which led me to believe some coach recruiter had contacted him.

Jim is a great Coach and a great man. Coached under the great, now deceased Bruce Johnson (former LSU secondary coach) at Air Force.

Good luck Grobey..he would be great at UAB...

Jim Grobe would be a huge upgrade over McGee and Callaway. Good man and a good coach who knows what it's like to win in a tough situation. Lot of experience and some success. I think he could do very well at UAB. The new Conference USA is not exactly clash of the titans every week.

I think Grobe could at least build a foundation for someone to be successful at UAB. His way of developing kids at Wake would work at UAB. He had a year where every player he signed redshirted.

UAB isn't going to be getting a whole lot of impact freshmen. Getting and keeping guys on campus for 5 years can help build continuity. And that's the biggest key to success in a situation like that.

It's an important hire for that program. USA, Troy, and even Jacksonville State have been shutting them out for talent. Arkansas State and Southern Miss get their share too.

He also made Prattville's athletic department broke.
