I was a really productive employee, and now I do next to nothing. Is it possible to stay motivated when you know you are on your way out?

You're wanting us to tell you no.....so no. But in reality it would be big no, so no.

I've never done this.. I have no clue, I would imagine that you just wrap things up that you were working on and that's it?

Its probably better that you aren't productive, since you'll end up in the middle of projects that you'll leave half finished, and people have to figure out what the hell you were doing, which could be hard when you are building Big Macs.

I got one bid out which I am surprised they let me do. I downloaded my replacement on my project that was wrapping up. Otherwise, I surfed the net and drove around my pipeline job a lot so I was unproductive as frick.

Counselor: Okay, we've got your typing test here and all the pertinent data about your...[stuttering]...background and, um, skills, and....
Peter: And?
Counselor: You, know, I got to be honest with you. I only have another week and a half here and I have completely checked out.
Peter: Oh.
Counselor: Yeah.
Peter: Well, what should I do?
Counselor: [Sighs pensively] Chef?

Hell I'm just looking for a new job. Haven't got to the two week notice part yet and my work ethic has gone to shite.

Your own motivation should come from you, not external factors.

They started transitioning some of my work to other people and mainly just expect me to document the code I've written lately. I have done maybe a couple hours of work this week. Days go by so slow when you all do is surf the web

The couple of times I have put in notice have been some of the busiest times in my career. I have had very good relationships with the people who would be my successor or to whom the work would shift so I really busted it to make the transistion easier for them, getting as much as I could completed and making sure everything else was organized and memos to each file written. Plus ethical duty to clients dictated that I didn't just blow the work off.

You should strive to be twice as productive. NEVER BURN A BRIDGE

Just imagine, in the UK they have a 3 month notice.
When my coworkers in London put in their notice, it was a fricking nightmare covering up their shite. So absurd to have such a long notice period.

This is why a lot of companies just go ahead and walk you out when you give notice.

Seems to me that if it is anything less than what it was before you put in your notice, you are a pretty crappy person.

I am in the same boat. Just accepted a position with a new company that's going to be much more lucrative. Put in my notice on Monday and literally don't give a frick. I'm avoiding everything from emails to phone calls to face to face interaction. I don't wanna burn any bridges but I almost wish they didn't take the notice and just told me to gtfo.

I will get what I need to accomplished and not burn a bridge. The company loves me and counter offered when I gave my two week notice but Denver is just a little more appealing than my current home in Shreveport

I feel you, bro

Keep doing what you are doing...hell, maybe even worse.
Mail it in. Show everyone in the office that you don't give a frick about this shitty, boring job. Start fricking up small things at work, so your co-workers will have to correct them once you're gone
