Good sized pot for stovetop?

Depends on how many you are cooking for and the type stove you have.

Shouldn't use cast iron at all on glass top flat top stoves. The heat stress will crack the glass top.

Somewhere between a 2 Qt. for one or two people and a 5 or 6 QT. for four or five people.

I use a 5 quart pot for for the stove top when making a small jambalaya. If I need a jambalaya bigger than that it's probably for a party or tailgate and I'm using my 5 gallon rig.

10 quart is the perfect size. You can cook for 2 or 12. The price difference in that small of a range is minimal. Never know when you are going to have to feed a group of people and a 10-12 qt can help with that

I did too until I cracked the glass.

Read your instruction manual, and go with it.

Good luck. My mistake cost me over $900.00.

I used my 9qt enameled cast iron dutch oven the past few times. It works great. I used the Jambalaya Calculator to figure the recipe for my pot at 75% full. I printed it, and I have used it twice since then. Flawless.

I have a gas stove. So where is a good place to find a 10 quart on line?

It's a GE Profile. I did read the manual. It specifically said you could use it.

8 quart should be enough, cooking lesser amounts can still be done in one of that size and you still have the capacity for larger gatherings of people.

I use two No. 12's, but I bake mine after stove top assembly.
