Our two choices were Tubby Smith and Johnny Jones. Would a good coach even come here? It's crazy to think that in the last 20 years (give or take), LSU has really only had 1 team that was great in basketball.

LSU is always had trouble finding a coach. The PMAC is a ghost town and support is tough finding.

I'm a season ticket holder and I love it. I'd upgrade my seats but as a whole, the support isn't there.

It's a shame because much smaller schools are constantly making the Tourney.

You can't tell me LSU can't have a better program than Witchita St.

why not Donnie Tyndall from Southern Miss?

They were a good NIT team and are 14-2 this year

The real sad part is LSU plays in a bad conference. Any competent coach (fan support or not) should be able to navigate a NCAA tourney birth almost every year. If LSU was winning big games, the support would be there. It has been before and it would be again.

All we have ever been since Dale left is a team full of athletes. We just try to out athlete everyone else. It works until crunch time.

Still recovering from the Trent Johnson era. I respect him, he is a great man with character, but just drug our program down. No way around it

Tyndall would love to come here and he's a good coach. That's the problem with this staff. I can't find the X's and O's coach, seems like all the assistants are recruiters.

Fred Hoiberg is the perfect example of what LSU could and SHOULD be.

I have a good friend who has known Donnie forever and put a good word in for him. Word is he would love to still get the job sometime in the future

I just find it funny our fans don't give Jones a season and a half while Hoiberg gets over three full seasons

Let's see if LSU wins a NCAA tourney game this season like Hoiberg did in year 2.

I'm still a huge JJ fan. Doesn't change the fact I rather Hoiberg at LSU. Doesn't change the fact that ISU was horrible for nearly a decade and in year two he was in the tourney winning a game.

If ISU can turn it around in 2 seasons, LSU SHOULD have no issues doing this especially in such a shite conference. ISU is doing it in a conference where there is legitimate talent.

The only measure for a good coach is...can he win the West? If not, he's not good!

Is this a serious post? Hoiberg took over a terrible program and turned it completely around in 2 years.

You're inability to be objective regarding Johnny jones, which leads to you literally making shite up to defend him, is pretty disturbing.

I just implied a few posts earlier that I agree that Hoiberg has done a better job in a shorter amount of time. that doesn't mean I don't think JJ deserves some more time. No doubt some improvements on offense need to be made, but the upperclassmen have overall been a huge disappointment.

Your anger regarding LSU basketball talk is disturbing. it's just a game, bro
