Obviously this is subject to change since we're still about 3 weeks out from the big game.

There does seem to be some level of consensus forming in the meteorological community. Most suggest a deep trough will cut into the eastern half of the country a little less than a week before the Feb. 2 game at MetLife Stadium, a signal colder than usual temperatures could be expected.

How cold will it get? Opinions vary, but Matt Rogers, a longtime energy industry consultant and founder of Commodity Weather Group, said the setup looks strikingly similar to last week, when New Jersey saw some of its coldest weather in two decades.
“The pattern does look like it’s going to go into a cold dominated story,” Rogers said. “It will depend on the timing, but it could conceivably rival the cold we saw last week.”
Rogers pointed to an ongoing phenomena that is expected to continue known as stratospheric warming, which can have an effect on the polar vortex, as the potential reason for this.
The polar vortex is a large, permanent area of low pressure that generally sits atop Arctic and contains the coldest air in the northern hemisphere. When sudden warming occurs in the stratosphere near the North Pole, some 60,000 to 80,000 feet above the Earth’s surface, it can split the vortex in two, sending cold air equator-ward and into the United States, much like last week.

Ahhhh, we're talking about that attic blast that hasn't even developed yet.
Got any lotto numbers for this weekend?

But the dude last week posted the forecast saying it would be mild. No way it changed between then and now.

He said mild, but even then the high was like 35. Definitely debatable on how mild that is

I'm in NY and it's been weirdly warm this week.
It gonna get cold

Looks like they might be looking at a few days of heavy snow followed by sub-zero weather through SB Sunday. My, oh my:
The National Weather Service suggests the coldest portion of the outbreak could be between Jan. 28 and Feb 2 – the day of the Super Bowl.
Currently, the National Weather Service 15-day, long-range outlook brings a clipper system across the Middle Atlantic States on Jan. 25-26. Because temperatures will be so cold, a swath of 6-8 inches of snow is forecast along the East Coast from Delaware through New Jersey through southern New England.

20-30 degrees below normal

the most extreme cold is expected to hit 11-15 days from now. One group that’s sure to be watching the weather are NFL executives. This year, the Meadowlands complex just outside New York is playing host to the first Super Bowl in history that will be played outside in a northern city, and if the weather models hold, bitterly cold temperatures should descend on the city the week before the big game

No its not. You put some rain in there and then you may have some issues.

could we stop posting forecasts for 3 weeks out? chances are, it won't be the same

If this was the Superbowl, would you really watch it? No way in the world I would be in the stands and I don't think I would even watch it on TV. I hope that the NFL gets hosed this year. If they thought the power outage was bad just think how bad this will be.

I think a game like that would be one of the most memorable Super Bowls ever. I'd definitely watch.

Doesn't even compare to the power outage. I'm sure that lost a shite ton of viewers since the game was pretty one-sided at that point.
Especially with the teams left. Patriots or Broncos would have crazy ratings.

If it snowed, I think the NFL would certainly try and spin it as "superbowl of the century" or some shite.

We could stop posting about it, but we are not. I suggest you stop reading about it until the timing of the discussion is more to your liking.
And you posting about not posting about it? Little ironic.
