I've been out of touch with Mars Volta for a while now, but will at least give this a listen...lots of guitar shredding talent here.

I just posted another thread a couple days ago about a new rap album that JF produced and contributed to. He's also released 2 solo EP's and 1 LP in the past two years. Far from being a hermit...You should check them out.
I don't have huge hopes for this effort, mainly because I wasn't a big fan of Omar's new band, Bosnian Rainbows, and I'm thinking this could be more of the same because I think the same vocalist will be in this band. But adding John could really spice things up.

Not kinda. He is the man (to me at least). His solo stuff is some of my favorite music. Well at least To a Record Only Water and everything after.
