Insider Info Needed... Tahoe/Yukon 2015 Release Date

Any one out there have any info on the release date of the 2015 GMC Yukon or Chevy Tahoe? The website gives a general timeline for "Early 2014". I want to get one for wife, but timing might be an issue if we have to wait too long.

Why not just place an order and get exactly what you want rather than having to choose from what is available on the first delivery?

Not possible. They have a guy following the car carrier from the plant to the dealership to get an advance on what's available.

Good lord, why?
They look nice and I'm sure they are great vehicles....but I don't see the point of being the first to own one. I know someone who did that when the Olds Aurora came out 20 years ago. He paid a huge deposit and got the first one shipped into the state. A few months later, there were thousands of them all over the place.
