You haven't followed Prime Time's stellar race threads on this board.

Neither have you, apparently, as you keep misrepresenting my position.

what the hell?
Congress does not have term limits for 2 reasons:
1. The original assumption by the Founders was that voters would not eternally re-elect ridiculous representatives. And that Representatives would see their role as public SERVANTS. Also Senators were originally appointed by their state governor.
2. The present mood of Congress would be to not enact any laws that would in some way infringe on their good thing going (i.e. - #term limits).

Senators should not be elected at all, it worked quite well with appointees for the first 100 years of the Republic. The appointees were more in touch with the desires of the people of the states as they were given the job as a result of who the people chose to be governor

Everything worked great until they changed the election of Senators to direct vote in 1913.

We only had slavery for 90 years, only one full blown civil war, and things were so much better back then.

Because it would take an act of Congress to put them in place. Next question.

I thought Congress put term limits in and they were ruled unconstitutional.

Once you're on that gravy train, you don't want to give it up willingly.

Because Congress would have to pass a bill implementing term limits?

Yeah I really want the bozos in Baton Rouge electing my senators.

There's really no point of having two houses in congress when they're both elected by the same means. The senate as it stands right now, is wholly redundant and serves no purpose.

Senators need to be elected by the state legislatures so states interests are better represented in Congress and give them a better voice and reign in the federal gov't.

If they are redundant then how come one blocks Obama and the other supports his agenda?

Voters elect the people in Baton Rouge, yet you think they'll do better with electing a Senator?
