I've got a dutch oven that's 30 years old. Accumulation of stuff won't come out with soap and water no matter how much I scrub.

Is there a cleaner that works on that material? I tried copper cleaner even though it's not copper. That didn't work.

TIA.

Thanks. I've seen that in the grocery store but had no idea what it was for.

Bar Keeper's friend works great. When that doesn't work, I put my pots in the oven and run the self cleaner. Everything turns to ash.

I have a small one that we boil eggs in. It had a build up from the water. I had good success with boiling/simmering vinegar in it.

Dawn has a relatively new product that's like the dishwashing liquid but better. I just soak pans for a few minutes and stuck on crud comes right off. If I have something particularly troublesome, I use a little Easy Off on it and let it sit about 30 minutes. I've used it on magnalite and never had any issue with it.

I have a set I been using for 40 years and all I use is dish liquid and SOS pad for stubborn messes and the in the dishwasher. No problems for me.

Is it cooked on grease or is it just discoloration? Bar Keepers or cleaning cycle for the grease. Boil w/ lemon juice or vinegar for the discoloration (dark grey to black color).

I know that plenty of people do, but I never have, and neither has my mother. Her pots are 30+ years ole and have some serious buildup on the outside. I'll have to bring some Easy Off over there and see if I can take care of it for her.

Get a bottle of lemon juice and heat it up in the pot. When it starts to bubble dump some baking soda in it and stir it around with an old dish rag with a pair of tongs.

Turn the fire down and don't burn dinner and you solve the problem.

Put it in the oven and run the self cleaner. Anything stuck on there will be ash when it's done.
