I bought a stock Sig M400 for my most recent AR and I have absolutely loved it so far.

ETA: Not trying to hijack your thread just wanted to give some props to a tremendous firearm manufacturer. The gun in the OP is off the charts cool.

Has to be upwards of 2K I would imagine. I'm curious as to what the base package gets you and what are going to be extras.

Being able to utilize both commie and nato ammo out of the same platform is a cool idea. I am guessing in a military application the soldier would have to carry a separate lower and barrel in his backpack.

Yeah, it would be a barrel package just like an M249 or M240 has. Only difference are those are to prevent the barrels from overheating.
Also, to the Okie in response to the M400. Sig is also releasing the M400 in a complete carbon fiber platform.
They seem to be the big winners in the SHOT so far.

Barrel, lower, and bolt assy, and probably a separate set of optics already zeroed. Not sure what purpose that would serve because I doubt anyone is pulling their rifle apart in that kind of situation anyway. On the civilian side it might be cheaper to build/buy separate rifles/uppers for 5.56 and .300AAC. The modualarity is pretty cool but I think this might take it a bit far.

These are gas piston systems, you aren't getting all three calibers under 2500

That's why I figure it would be cheaper to build separate AR's for each caliber. Especially with the current AR market.
